Gianna Nannini is an Italian rock singer from Sienna. After 7 years of conservatory, she leaved her home and went to live in Milan where she performed in many « off » clubs. She released her first album GIANNA NANNINI in 1975.

In 1981, her first important collaborations started to develop, such as the one with PFM, Conny Plank, Annie Lennox, Hannette Hump…She has also composed the soundtrack for the film "Sconcerto Rock" by Luciano Mannuzzi produced by Bernardo Bertolucci. 1987 is the year of consecration for Gianna, she realesed « I MASCHI », sold over half million copies in Europe.

In 2006, her album GRAZIE is launched, co-produced by Will Malone, reaching the top of the Italian charts, landing Diamond after just 6 months. This album is the start of a new style of music for Gianna Nannini where sounds are more about melodic rock.

Gianna Nannini is the leader of feminine Italian rock. She has become the only Italian singer of her generation to achieve true international success.
