Aimee Mann
Aimee Mann
Genre: Rock/Pop

Aimee Mann's musical influences are as diverse as Bob Dylan and The Beatles. She began song writing at 16, later joining a series of bands, including The Young Snakes and 'Til Tuesday, and achieving her first success with the latter, which really boosted her career. She went solo in 1993, with the albums Whatever and I’m With Stupid, which were not commercially popular. After her record company terminated her contract, Aimée Mann set up her own label, SuperEgo Records, on which she released her third album, Bachelor N°2 (1999). This bore out the adage "if you want something done properly, you have to do it yourself": she finally had her hit record. As the cherry on the cake, the track 'Save Me' (from Bachelor N°2) was used as the soundtrack to the film Magnolia, winning her an Oscar and giving her the recognition she deserved.

Her latest album, @#%&! Smilers, released in 2008, was produced by Paul Bryan, with whom the singer had already collaborated on One More Drifter in the Snow.
