Jim Beard and Jon Herington
A piano, a guitar, and decades of virtuosity. This is the menu proposed by Jim Beard & Jon Herington, who were respectively keyboard and guitarist of the legendary band Steely Dan.
Jon, an essential part of Steely Dan’s comeback in 2000, and Jim, who was part of the 2008 tour, combine their talents and offer an eclectic repertoire that includes instrumental-based pop and jazz classics, with a bonus some of their own compositions.
Versatile musicians, these two instrumentalists have traveled the world alongside the greatest, in all musical genres, from Pat Metheny to Dizzy Gillespie, from Dianne Reeves to Meshell Ndegeocello, from jazz to funk. Their record is immaculate, with Jim nominated for seven Grammy nominations and a victory for his participation in the album “Some Skunk Funk” by Randy & Michael Brecker.
For their duet concert, Jon & Jim will bring their unique touch and revisit the catalog of Beatles, Beach Boys, Weather Report and of course Steely Dan. A rare experience, the opportunity to see and hear from human distance two exceptional artists who have skimmed mythical venues such as Carnegie Hall and the CBGBs. Those who know jazz and jazz rock know that the addition of Jim & Jon is a promise of musical sophistication, pure pleasure but also promises some surprises.
See you on March 5, 2020 at the New Morning in Paris for an evening combining dexterity and groove, a concert that promises to be up to the expectations of all lovers of good sound!
