The Hanson brothers – Isaac (guitar and vocals), Zac (drums and vocals) and Taylor (keyboard and vocals) – have been playing music together since early infancy. The brothers set the world alight with their single Mmmbop in 1997, which went to number one in several countries, and their debut album, Middle of Nowhere, sold more than 8 million copies world-wide.
The three brothers wrote and composed their songs themselves, although at the time their combined age was less than 50. The Hanson sound is pop influenced by funk, rock and blues.
Hanson released their first best-of live album in October 2005. This record, recorded during a Melbourne concert in 2004 and entitled The Best of Hanson Live and Electric, includes all the songs that have contributed to the trio's success.
Their new album, Shout It Out, is out now. In the video clip of the first single, 'Thinkin' 'Bout Somethin', the brothers have reproduced a legendary scene from the film Blues Brothers, featuring Ray Charles, as a tribute to one of their favourite childhood films.
